Elon Musk On How Technology Does Not Always Improve #shorts

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk discusses technology and how it is assumed it always gets better. But Elon says this is actually not always the case. There are plenty of examples throughout history where civilisations have routinely forgotten the technology of their forefathers. Great civilisations that over time degraded to unrecognisable levels.

The Romans built amazing roadways and aqueducts then forgot how to build. The Egyptians built the Pyramids and later forgot how to do it. So unless very smart people work really hard, technology can and does in fact decline. So for this reason mankind needs to stay on top of emerging technologies and push them forward.
