As the truth keeps emerging and more people come to recognize what has been perpetrated against all of humanity, cracks in the thick wall of lies, a Hoovers Dam will reach a critical mass and burst forth. Among a range of intense emotions, anger, moral outrage, free, guilt, shame, grief, and shock, is the common element of betrayal, a violation of trust and confidence. Everyone on the planet has been betrayed, except for the masterminds and primary perpetrators of our collective trauma. There is a cascade of betrayal. Even some who caused harm were also betrayed.

This gigantic rupture can lead to despair and desires for revenge in ways that are destructive to individuals and society. Or, as a matter of conscious evolution we can undergo an intentional process, informed by social science, to come to terms with what happened, a variation of truth and reconciliation processes that will acknowledge the full truth, collective mourning, atonement, repair, transformation, redemption for those who earn it, accountability for those who are incapable of redemption using reparative forms of justice that will satisfy the needs of those betrayed in a constructive way that allows society to move forward.
