Hooper v. Alabama

The Roe v Alabama case in 1984 pitted the Democrat trial lawyers and against Perry Hooper Sr. in a race for Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Hooper prevailed.

The US Supreme Court ultimately ruled:

1.) The law is the law on Election Day. Can’t make up your own rules.


2.) No such thing as “substantial completion”, meaning mail-in ballots must have all components required by law
