COP27: Zelenskyy warns 'world is on the brink' but effective climate policy needs peace

Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has told delegates at COP27 "the world is on the brink" but warned, "there can be no effective climate policy without peace."

Mr Zelenskyy added that the Russian war had destroyed five million acres of woodland in Ukraine and forced nations to "resume coal-fired power generation in order to lower energy prices".
