Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, on Monday held talks with visiting General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The two sides have agreed to consolidate traditional friendship, strengthen strategic communication, enhance political mutual trust and manage differences properly, and lift the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights in the new era.
