Beijing will build a stable supply chain with Hanoi, Chinese President Xi Jinping told the visiting chief of Vietnam’s Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong, on October 31, 2022. Trong was the first foreign leader to visit China since Xi secured a third term as the nation’s paramount leader at the 20th party congress earlier this month. The Vietnamese leader is also visiting Beijing as Hanoi tries to conduct a balancing act amid rising China-US tensions.
