On this day in 1997 the remote controlled car scene from TOMORROW NEVER DIES was filmed. To create the effect of Bond driving his car via a touchpad on his cell phone, special effects supervisor Chris Corbould's crew rebuilt four BMW 750iLs to be driven by stunt driver Steve Griffin, hidden from view crouched on the back floorboard and using video monitors to see the set.
