Why have two Argentina lakes turned pink? Environmentalists say it is because of pollution
1 year ago
Environmentalists say pollution has turned two lakes in Argentina’s Patagonia region fuschia.
The lakes are located near an industrial park on the outskirts of the city of Trelew and environmentalists claim its industrial contamination from the park that has turned the water bright pink.
Pablo Lada, a local activist, said experts have told environmentalists that a dye used to give prawn their rose-coloured hue could be to blame.
Local and regional officials have yet to determine a cause for the bright pink colour
