Torrential rain hit the capital Bangkok this Monday as millions of people headed to work and school.
Over the past six hours, 104 mm and 93 mm of rain have fallen in the Laksi and Bangna areas, respectively.
The streets became impassable due to the flow of water and debris floating on it.
Hundreds of cars got stuck in the water.
Torrential rains partially disrupted the power supply, which caused traffic lights to fail, adding to the chaos on the roads.
About a dozen people were blocked in cars and they needed the help of rescuers.
Information about the victims was not received.
The meteorological department predicts heavy rain in the areas of Lat Krabang, Bang Khun Thian and Pravet tonight.
