Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the ninth entry in the Battlefield series, a direct sequel to Battlefield: Bad Company, which was released in 2010 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
It inherits the destruction effects and single-player storyline of Battlefield: Renegade Company, but enhances the setting with multiplayer online carrier battles and teamwork elements, introduces a self-customising carrier feature for the first time, and designs two new squad-playing game modes. The game uses an enhanced version of the Frost engine to include support for building frame destruction and object chunking. Focusing on intense, entertaining gameplay, Battlefield: Rebel Company 2 was a bigger success in terms of ratings and sales than Battlefield: Rebel Company.
