It's the first day of competition at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and Singapore's table tennis players are off to a winning start. The women's team showed they were a class above, sweeping host nation England 3-0 in front of a fervent home crowd. World number 16 Feng Tianwei dropped her first game before recovering to take the next three against Ho Tin-Tin. Meanwhile, Zeng Jian beat Maria Tsaptsinos 3-0 in her singles match. Earlier, Zeng partnered Zhou Jingyi to take the opening doubles match in straight games. Singapore play Nigeria next.
