When Sonia Villalobos, CFA, was at university in the 1980s, Brazil´s financial market was plagued by one of the deepest economic depressions of its history. Yet at the same time foreign investors were starting to flood into the country. Villalobos, one of very few women to have managed a hedge fund in Latin America, was a trailblazer in the financial industry, putting a huge emphasis on training and knowledge. Now she continues to help expand and diversify the field in Brazil by teaching the next generation of trailblazers.
