Indonesia recorded surplus of Rp 364 trillion in the first half of 2022
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said confidently in his annual state address on Tuesday that “Our inflation rate is under control, in the range of 4.9 percent,” adding, “The number is significantly lower than the average inflation rate in ASEAN countries, around 7 percent, and is significantly lower than the average inflation rate in developed countries, around 9 percent.”
According to the President, Indonesia’s economic fundamentals have remained strong despite the global economic turbulence. Nevertheless, Jokowi also reminded the nation that Indonesia must be prudent and vigilant in facing global challenges.
Jokowi noted that by the first half of 2022, Indonesia’s economy recorded positive growth of 5.44 percent with a total surplus of Rp 364 trillion (US$24.49 billion), in which the state budget contributed a surplus of Rp 106 trillion.
