The Lethbridge Salute Our Veterans Banner Project was a huge success this year. A total of 80 banners were raised high and displayed in our city in different places like City Hall, the Cenotaph, the Legion and our city’s Airport. The banners featured a picture of a veteran and some information to showcase where they served and during which time period.

Glenn Miller, a committee member for the project, says they are hoping to up that number to 90 banners by next year to include a variety of veterans from different wars in our history.

The Legion’s Poppy Campaign also began on October 28. Officials say the goal is to raise 90 thousand dollars this year to be distributed to veterans in our city. The veteran banners will be on display in Lethbridge until the end of Remembrance Day.
