The fight for living wages in Canada continues with the Ontario CUPE union going up against Doug Ford for a better bargaining deal on November 7th 2022. Thousands of the province’s education workers, represented by CUPE, continue their strike action. On November 3, the provincial government passed legislation aimed at preventing a strike by the union. The government is seeking to have CUPE’s current job action declared illegal. Premier Ford announces that his government is willing to rescind the back-to-work legislation if CUPE agrees to call off strike action. Protests and politicians re-nagging on their deals continue across Canada.
