Lately there are many people I have been talking to that say they feel a great sense of urgency. I too feel that same sense. There is an internal knowing that time is more precious now than ever before. Many know this as well.

I have also noticed that the words Paul spoke, "I am crucified to the world and the world to me," are now real to me. No longer is it something I have only known by reading this verse. Something is happening to all of us, and it is real.

Yesterday I was reading in Acts where Paul had been very busy in His missionary journeys. At one point he was in the synagogue reasoning with the Jews. They asked him if he would tarry longer with them, but he "consented not." Instead, he "bade them farewell saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem..."

When Paul said, "I must by all means..." I take it that he was emphatic and acutely determined that he was not going to be persuaded by anyone or anything. "By all means" has intensity to it. Nothing and no one was going to stop him, and he was going alone.

I see that many people are asleep in religious activities now when they should be awake and alive. The holidays are coming up and now the people of God are more distracted than ever. But there are a few that know the time and they are "bidding this world farewell."

Whatever you hear, see or feel that you know is hindering you in the way to the coming feast in Heavenly Jerusalem, do not allow it any longer. Get as far away from it as fast as you can. Let nothing get in your way.

Give a deaf ear to this world and say you "must by all means be in Jerusalem." Let your hearts be fastened to this purpose.

"Fear arises when we imagine that everything depends on us." ~Elizabeth Elliot
