What’s Concerning Us? – The Pope’s Historic Trip to Bahrain

Pope Francis used his speeches during the historic trip to promote his type of 'fraternity' and 'unity in diversity.'

Francis echoed the theme of his September address at an ecumenical meeting in Kazakhstan – where he denounced “proselytism and indoctrination” – saying that “it is not enough to grant permits and recognize freedom of worship; it is necessary to achieve true freedom of religion.”

In short, I am very concerned that the faithful's voice was silent in the creation of this report. This report will eventually combine with other reports of similar messages from around the word and presented to Rome. The intent of such reports is clear: an attempt to change Catholic teaching on human sexuality, marriage, and ordination through the Synod of Synodality. I contend that those who lead this effort seek to appeal to sensus fidelium in their attempt at doctrinal change. The thought is that if all the "faithful" throughout the world agree, the Pope must listen and move towards change. My hope and prayer is that this is not how the faithful truly think. I hope this is merely another attempt by dissidents within the Church at radical change.
