Viewers A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck near North Atlantic Ocean, 79 km south of Armona Island, Faro, Portugal.
The tremor was recorded in the evening on Saturday, January 1st, 2022, at 8:03 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 7 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.

Viewers A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake as well.
