Proposed laws to keep online content safe for users in Singapore will be enforced in phases when passed. The first platform to be regulated is social media, due to its reach and risks for users. Harmful content on other online channels is next. Communications and Information Minister Josephine Teo said that such laws are also meant to be targeted, if not they may be less effective. The Bill will be debated for the second time in Parliament next week.
