Yellow Ribbon Awards: Over 200 honoured for championing second chances for inmates, ex-offenders

Calls for Singapore to look at longer-term reintegration issues to ensure fewer ex-offenders return to crime. Four in 10 go back to jail within five years. Second Minister for Home Affairs Josephine Teo said there is a need to upskill them to improve their employability and stay employed in the long run. At the Yellow Ribbon Awards ceremony, over 200 recipients were honoured for their efforts and commitment towards championing second chances for inmates and ex-offenders. Those recognised include ex-offenders who remained crime-free and have contributed back to the community.
