When I got into land management I never really considered 'pond management' and all of it's potential! Well today that is going to change! Join us for today's episode as we are continually working on improving our Southern Illinois farm for wildlife habitat, natural enjoyment, exploring and much more. But this is taking it all to the next level for pond improvement & pond management. In today's episode we'll be installing a pond aerator that will support 2 different ponds, and each pond will have 2 air diffusers, since they are each about 1.5 acre ponds. We will also install a fish feeder as well, and hit the ponds with pond dye and another chemical that improves the pond wellness and reduces pond sediment. We hired J.R. Hoffman Ponds for this project and I did all of the wire and air line trenching myself with my bobcat e42 r2 series mini excavator with a one foot bucket. Jeff travels all over the Midwest and country for pond projects such as this, so if you have a pond, or will be digging a pond, he is your guy for pond improvements and overall maintenance. After all of this initial stuff is done, then it will only need maybe semi annual treatments to keep on top of the weeds. Here is Jeff's contact information: J.R. Here is a link to Jeff's tiktok channel where he documents a lot of his pond management projects:

My personal life dream is to catch a 6lb bass or bigger on my very own pond in our back yard! Since my health is deteriorating and I don't travel much, I am literally bringing some outdoor fun right here to me, so that as I get older I can still enjoy it as it won't require travel, boats, strange lakes and so forth.
