Butterflies such as the ogomadara (tree nymph) and Ryukyu asagimadara (Ceylon blue glassy tiger) have emerged into adulthood to fly about at the Itami City Museum of Insects in Hyogo Prefecture. About 1,000 butterflies, many of them native to Okinawa, have been let loose in the museum so visitors can enjoy an up close and personal look at how they live in natural environments.
