First wild bison born in the UK for 6,000 years after small herd brought to Kent

The first wild bison to be born in the UK for around 6,000 years is taking her first steps in the woodland near Canterbury

As bison conceal their pregnancy to avoid being targeted by predators the birth was an unexpected surprise for the park Rangers

“Though it was a surprise to see that the younger female bison had given birth, it was always a possibility, and we have created a care plan for the calf to ensure her needs are met", Bison Rangers Tom Gibbs has said.
