The Gospel of the Kingdom Requires a Sacred Cow to be Confronted this Midterm!

There is a phrase I've heard repeated for years in Christendom and it is a phrase that does not even exist in the Bible. I've heard it from pastors, and teachers in bible schools, it's in some of the songs we sing and I learned it and repeated it too. Then I repented. What's the problem with it? It is a partial truth that many Christians use to absolve them of personal responsibility.

The midterm election is the perfect place to frame this phrase as almost 50% of the body of Christ in America does not even engage in using their rights and responsibilities as citizens to vote. What is that sacred cow? It's the phrase, "God is in control."
