Why is Woolworths filming you at the self service checkout?

Collecting personal information? Preparing for digital ID?

One would argue that by shopping there you agree to certain terms and conditions - like being filmed/photographed - however how is this data stored? Who owns it? Who can access it or is it sold? What other information is linked to it, e.g. banking details?

It's really murky stuff.

All the better reason to shop in little local places.

Interestingly enough a lot of my friends who are on the same page with me on the mandates and lockdown at first thought I was wrong on this. One week later the mainstream news exposed that Bunnings, The Good Guys and K-Mart were using facial recognition. They paused the facial recognition because they were being investigated by a Gvt. watchdog on how they were using the information.
