At least 14 dead in fire aboard boat carrying 240 passengers in Indonesia

A boat ferrying 240 passengers between two islands in eastern Indonesia caught fire on October 24, 2022, reportedly killing 14 and leaving many who jumped off stranded in the deep sea. The vessel was heading from Kupang to the town of Kalabahi on Alor Island.
