Steve Bannon filed an appeal challenging his conviction and sentence for criminal contempt of Congress Friday.

The ex-adviser to former President Trump was sentenced to four months in jail for failing to cooperate with the House Select Committee.

That prison sentence will be put on hold while the legal challenge is underway.

A Trump-appointed judge has also ordered Bannon to pay $6,500 in fines, if the conviction is upheld.
