Scot Plays #7 // Recording Guitars For "Akhenaten"

Welcome to Scot Plays #7, Recording Guitars for "Akhenaten"! I've started recording a new album which I'm going to call "Valley Of The Kings", as it's based on the kings, gods, religion and culture of ancient Egypt, and this is the second track to be worked on from this new album. I've got two more written that I'll be recording guitars for soon, and I'll bring you those videos, too!

I'll start y'all off here with the hellacious opening 5/4 riff in Standard C tuning, work through all the heavy and melodic sections on rhythm guitars, and then show you some of the lead work. There's even a long chord chain I've put up the chord symbols for, so if you play, grab your guitar and strum along just for the fun of it. I give a bunch of explanation along the way as to what I'm doing and why, and maybe you'll get some helpful tips that might improve your recording process!
