A dangerous Ice Flow occurred Thursday, January 13, 2022 along the Roaring Fork River in Colorado.

The ice flow clogged the river when rising temperatures unleashed a torrent of ice, water, and debris down river from Aspen.

Pitkin and Eagle County residents were warned mid-afternoon to "move away from the river and seek high ground from Snowmass Canyon to Carbondale."

The Roaring Fork River is a Gold Medal trout stream and is often crowed with anglers and fly fishermen. Unexpected ice flows can sweet anglers off their feet and cause serious injury. No injuries were reported.
