South Australia’s freak spring storms have thousands on alert with a series of flood warnings in place.
The unseasonable cold snap has wreaked havoc for racegoers celebrating the Melbourne Cup at Morphettville.

The Adelaide Hills and suburbs have been battered with heavy rain and hail, and there has even been a rare flurry of snow in the state's mid north.
