Man Points Gun At Eastpointe Cops While They Try To Use Tasers

Eastpointe, Michigan — A man stopped by Eastpointe Police for reckless driving on Gratiot Avenue just north of Eight Mile Road pointed a gun at police and fled the scene on foot, officers reported. 28-year-old Deaz Fitzgerald Titus Jr. was driving an all terrain vehicle on June 15, 2022 when police pulled him over and approached him when they noticed what appeared to be a firearm in his shorts. When officers attempted to restrain him, Titus pulled away and attempted to escape. As one officer deployed his taser, Titus lost his balance, fell to the ground, and began to roll over.
