It contains many of the artists favorite things such as a proud Tall Ship on the river. Curtis lived aboard boats for 19 years in the area of Chesapeake Bay and this kind of scene will always be in his blood. There are the beautiful rolling hills of western Virginia where Curtis lived in a cabin for two years near colorful working farms. There is the old Stone Mill by the dam at the edge of town that creaked and groaned night and day. Painting a scene with powerful horses pulling wagons was inspired by the Budweiser Clydesdales when they trotted down Jefferson Street last year in Roanoke, Virginia.
The painting measures 30x40 inches and the finished size of the frame is 36x46.
