I feel the person who was showing up in the reading is someone who you are no longer in communication with. At first things were great, but then things changed over time. They want to know if you would forgive them. There are a few reasons that I am seeing. They are simply not ready for a relationship. Especially if that is what you want at this time. They are not in the energy of having a relationship and they are trying to get out of some codependent (relationship or situation) and they ask that you don't wait on them. I do feel that their energy is compromised but that doesn't excuse them from their own personal truth.
