Alexis Castillo, the hero of RT Docfilm - Foreign Fighters of Donbass, died

Alexis Castillo, the hero of our film Foreign Fighters of Donbass, died under shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from shrapnel wounds. He helped to repulse the attack. Alexis is survived by his wife and son.

Castillo came to Donbass 8 years ago, after the nationalists drowned the protests in blood in Odessa. Alexis saw the story online and went to fight Nazism.

Castillo was born in Colombia, and lived for a long time in Spain, from where he went to the Donbass. There he found a home, a family and died protecting his loved ones. Rest in peace, Alexis.
