Zero Tolerance 0350 - Maybe the best field EDC folder

There are pocket knives for polite company and the office. There are pocket knives for opening boxes. There are pocket knives for self defense. There are very few pocket knives that can really claim to do more than one of these particularly well. The ZT 0350 is one of the best folders I've seen for anything but polite company. It's a big, beefy and generally aggressively styled knife, no way around that. On the other hand, it's not super thick, the blade is tall enough with a good grind for everything from boxes to field craft to cutting up lunch. The overall profile is a blade that will survive a fair bit of abuse and provides lots of cutting surface, which results in the knife staying sharper longer in normal use.

The grip is micro textured, with jimping that is aggressive but not overly so. There are enough aesthetic touches to make it a pretty knife despite the size and profile. It has a fair bit of class to it. This is true of everything I've seen from Ken Onion, who designed it for ZT.

My ONLY complaint is that the slight recurve in the blade means that sharpening that area with a flat stone is out, but the rest of the edge is easy and a curved stone or rod works fine in that area. I do understand why it's there, and in a knife like this I even approve, it's got enough edge length to compensate.

If I was ever to spend significant money on an EDC again, and didn't want something small and sleek, this would be it.
