North Korea missile launch prompts rare alert in Japan

North Korea has reportedly launched an intermediate-range ballistic missile over northern Japan.

The first such shot in five years prompted the Japanese government to urge people to shelter from falling debris. The Japanese prime minister, Fumio Kishida, called North Korea’s actions 'reckless' and said the government would continue to gather and analyse information.
