BC's plan to pay family doctors directly puts pressure on other provinces

To address a nationwide shortage of family doctors, British Columbia will launch a new payment model to compensate these physicians in February 2023.
The new plan would provide an average annual salary increase from $250,000 to more than $385,000. This would make that province's family doctors among the highest paid in Canada.
The Canadian Medical Association is excited about this groundbreaking announcement. Jamie Mauracher explains how other provinces are being pressured to follow suit.
