Harold is a husband and father of 3 adult daughters, and he has 3 grandchildren that he would have never met if it hadn't been for homesteading. In 2012 he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer from a lifestyle of poor eating and lack of exercise as a Truck Driver. He opted out of traditional treatment against the doctor's advice and instead started growing and raising his own food and drastically changed his lifestyle which resulted in being cancer free for a decade now. He has been sharing his homesteading experiences and the experiences of others through his podcast, The Modern Homesteading Podcast, since 2015.
