Plants vs Zombies 2 - Penny's Pursuit - Zomboss - Chili Bean - November 2022

This Penny's quest focuses on the CORE plant Chili Bean and was offered between between November 2, 2022 and November 16, 2022

Chili Bean is a member of the Ail-Mint family.
Costs 50 Sun. (25 Sun at level 9)
Any non-mechanical zombie that eats Chili Bean will be stunned for 1.5 seconds before perishing.
Said zombie will also “fart” - stunning all zombies behind it for 7.5 seconds. (+0.5 seconds per level.)
When given plant food, Chili Bean will duplicate itself three (3) times. (Four (4) copies will be created at level 5.)

Commentary:
A single use plant which can eliminate any flesh zombie while stalling all other zombies in a lane? All for a measly 50 Sun? What's not to like?

Bottom Line:
Chili Bean gets lots of love in the early parts of a level when Sun is scarce and one needs to concentrate more on generating Sun rather than eliminating zombies. So Chili Bean makes sense along with other early level plants like Squash, Explode-o-Nut, Potato Mine and Primal Potato Mine.

Chili Bean however is not looked at a viable plant once the mid-level has been reached. This can be a mistake. Chili Bean stalling a lane can be used to set up more Sun-heavy plants like Mega Gatling Pea or Wintermelon. Chili Bean can also be used as an emergency stop for any which managed to get through a player's defenses.

Level 2 Objective - Remove seven (7) health bars in three (3) minutes.
Reward is 15 Chili Bean
Players start with 2,500 Sun.

Level 3 Objective - Remove nine (9) health bars in three (3) minutes.
Reward is 20 Chili Bean
Players start with 2,250 Sun.
The Shadow plants - usually reliable against Zomboss - are useless against this particular Zomboss. Snapdragon, Bonk Choy or Pokra should be utilized as they can survive better than usual against Zombosses.
