Beattie Jet Lighter

A unique and genius design for lighting cigarettes, cigars, and pipes alike. This liquid petrol lighter patented in the 1940s and produced up through the 60s used a twin wick system to deliver fuel to the standard wick for lighting cigars or cigarettes and to a secondary wick attached to a brass tube that ended in a pinpoint hole. When tilted, the fuel would flow through the tube and vapors would shoot through the tip with enough force to propel a small flame jet, useful enough for lighting a pipe. The increasing popularity of pressurized butane gas lighters rendered this design obsolete for most practical use.
