SPIT ON MY ROSEMARY PLANTS? Spittle Bugs!🐛Plant Care

Are you mystified by white frothy bubbles that look like spit on your rosemary plant? Surprise! Believe it or not, this is a garden bug, commonly known as a “spittlebug!”

The scientific name is Philaenus spumaria. Other names for this spittlebug insect is; meadow spittlebug, (because it is commonly found on alfalfa plants), and cuckoo spit.

The bubbles are just a cover to protect the spittle bug from predators when they are busy eating your rosemary plant, or other plant! Ha ha.
