On Monday morning, people laid white flowers at a small makeshift altar off an exit of the Itaewon subway station, a few steps away from the site of the crush.

The accident two days ago had claimed 154 lives, including 26 foreigners.

Foreigners, including Korean American Keith Yi visited the memorial site to pay condolences to the victims and put up pictures of the two American victims upon request of the victims' family. The embassies in Korea are still trying to help those looking for the missing loved ones and help the victims' families.

Saturday night's tragedy marked the deadliest stampede in South Korea's history and the worst disaster the country has seen since 2014 when the Sewol ferry killed 304 people, mostly high school students.
