Real Garage: Hit the bars! Bolt-In Docol Engine Bay Bars (Season 4, Episode 5)

45

In this episode of Real Garage, Andy fabricates removable engine bay bars for his '69 Trans Am project. He’s one step closer to mounting a monster motor!

Watch Andy show you how to make engine bay bars from Docol® high-strength steel tubing. The bars tie the Trans Am’s front subframe and roll cage together for the rigidity Andy will need when putting the Pontiac through its paces at the races! Because they’re bolted in, the engine bay bars are easily removable, making future engine work and body repairs easier — but the mounting points are welded, so follow along with Andy as he shows you the right techniques for DC TIG welding steel alloys.

Docol is a registered trademark of SSAB Technology AB Corporation.
