The left never seem to pay extra tax themselves

The left wing live in lar lar land. If you increase the tax. The rich will leave the UK and you end up with less tax. Also nothing stops you paying more tax. Yet none of these left wing people ever seem to pay extra tax but have excuses why they themselves cannot.
