Fat Pups and Fat Flock

Our livestock guardian dogs are growing quickly. We are now OK to pet them periodically because they are bonded with the rams. George Heller was right about the feeder - the ram lambs were getting into the feeder so Peter rigged up a temporary block to keep the rams from the feeder.
We have about one month left of grass to graze and will start feeding hay then. Also coming up at the end of the month is butchering the wethers.
Our ewe flock is looking fat and healthy.
About the rain - except for some little bits, we have been dry since August. We are hoping for lots of snow to replenish. Our field is looking brown and while there is still food for the flock, we will need to feed earlier than planned. Our friend Doug, who has been farming here for decades said this is the driest he’s ever seen the lakes and ponds around here in Southern MN.
