Before the full details regarding Paul Pelosi’s attack and the suspect were released, some notable public figures immediately blamed Republicans and former President Donald Trump, suggesting that this was the result of their political rhetoric.

As NBC’s Ben Collins says, “It Simply Does Not Matter” if Paul Pelosi’s attacker is mentally ill, it’s Trump’s fault.

Larry Elder reacted to this rhetoric:

“The LA Times wrote a long piece on the deranged, ‘right-wing conspiracy’-believing white man who attacked Paul Pelosi. When I ran for Governor, I was attacked by a still-at-large white woman in a gorilla mask. County Sheriff called it a ‘hate crime.’ The LA Times quickly lost interest.”
