Topic: Violence & Aggression in Conflict - Social Psychology

In this lecture we will review Violence & Aggression in Conflict.

Violence occurs when conflict interactions move beyond threats, verbal abuse, and verbal aggressiveness. In conflict, violent behavior is an attempt to force one’s will on the other, to get them to stop doing something or to start doing something.

Violence substitutes physical threats for verbal persuasion. Violence occurs in the home, on dates, and in the workplace. The two most researched scales are CTS and CTS2, use items on negotiation, psychological aggression, physical assault, sexual coercion, and injury.

I am open to additional lecture title suggestions… so if you have a topic in mind, send me your request.
