Byleth is the main protagonist in Shez is the protagonist of Fire Emblem Warriors. A bonafide mercenary through-and-through, Shez takes work wherever they can get it, so long as they are properly compensated.

Shez can be interpreted as an Arabic saying for Happy and Joyful. Shez could also be derived from the word Shahzad, Persian for 'Son of the king' or 'prince.'

Shez may also be derived from Shax, also known as Shaz, a Great Marquis of Hell in the Ars Goetia, matching Byleth's connection to the Ars Goetia in their naming scheme.
