PERFECTION IS AN ILLUSION EXCELLENCE IS AN EXPECTATION - LEADERS KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

“It is not realistic to hold out for perfection. Not for your team, your spouse, your clients or yourself. The best you can do is the best you can do. That should be, must be your expectation for yourself and for all those you lead. When the best one can do is genuine and yet still falls short of the highest ideals or expectations there is a gap. That may be a performance gap, an aptitude gap, an attitude gap or a training gap. Before acting as a leader to close the gap, make sure it is well identified and clearly articulated. A good leader knows it is GRACE which covers the gap before correction is applied. Next, close the gap. Train them up to reach the standards or help them find a job which is a better fit for their attitude and aptitude.” J Loren Norris

PS: Did you spot the use of hyperbole in the video? Where was it? Odd how a claim can be received and accepted as truth when declared with confidence.
HINT: The declaration is not humanly possible.
