I'm thinking purchasing a 20 room hotel and living with my wife to save rent. Is that a good idea?

Good question.

Unless you have years of experience running a hotel or have a mentor that has experience with hotels, buying a hotel is not ideal unless you are doing it as a hobby business and don’t care if it makes money or not.

If you want to go into this sort of thing you need to get a proper education in running a hotel or have a team that has a lot of experience in that type of business. When I say team I am not talking about a team of people that have experience working in a hotel. You need actual hotel owners on your team.

Several of my friends own hotels and have experience in that industry. You need to find someone that is a hotel owner already to be on your team so they can help you avoid countless mistakes.

If you are serious about the hotel industry then you need to network with other investors. If you don’t know where to start, then start coming to the free weekly meetings each Sunday at the Benjamin Z Miller investor networking group.

I offer education and training to landlords, engineers, doctors and dentists, and many others that would like to learn how to enjoy the benefits of investing as quickly as possible. If that sounds interesting contact my office by going to www.benjaminzmiller.com and fill out the contact form.

You also can register at meetup.com at the link below:

I hope that helps and good luck with your investing!
